Karan V Grover was born on Tuesday, June 22, 1982 (age 41; as of 2023) in Mumbai. His zodiac sign is Cancer. He did his schooling at St. Xavier’s High School, Mumbai and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Vidyalaya, Mumbai. After graduation, he pursued chemical engineering at the Bombay Institute of Technology. He reportedly failed in his final year of engineering but later passed in another attempt. Post engineering, Karan completed a professional event management course at the National Institute of Event Management, Pune. Later, in 2002, he worked in Omang Kumar’s Event Management Company as an event manager. In 2004, he participated in the Gladrags Manhunt Contest and was among the top five finalists.

- Kavita Kaushik: Karan Grover is reportedly dating SAB TV’s FIR fame, Chandramukhi Chautala aka Kavita Kaushik. The duo participated as a couple in the dance reality show, Nach Baliye in season 3. However, the relationship did not last long. In an interview, talking about his failed relationship with Kavita, Karan said:
A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then, I had a great time when I was with him, but we parted ways without any hard feelings.
In an interview, when Kavita was asked about her ex-boyfriend Karan, she said that she doesn’t even remember his face and has never seen him on TV as she doesn’t watch much TV. According to some media reports, when Kavita was participating in Bigg Boss, without directly mentioning Karan’s name, she admitted that she met ‘that TV’ twice for Abhinav Shukla.

She made her television debut in 2004 in the lead role of Arjun Goenka in the show Saarrthi which aired on Star Plus. Later, she appeared in several shows including Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni (2007-08), Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki (2007-09), Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli (2009-12), Hum Aapke Hain In Laws (2013) and Punar Vivah (2013) etc.

In 2007, she participated in Star Plus’ dance reality show, Nach Baliye 3, alongside Kavita Kaushik. According to Karan, he is not a big fan of reality shows. In an interview he said,
I cannot participate in reality shows. They get boring after a while. I did Nach Balie only after much persuasion. And in between, I lost interest and towards the end, I was just rambling. So there is no reality for me – never. As it is, I feel that all such shows are ultimately the same – wahi ek type ki judges and wahi ek type ke contestants, be they stars or the general public.
In 2016, he played Shantanu Kant, a scientist, in Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant opposite Ridhima Pandit.

In 2019, Grover played the role of Dr. Rohit Sippy in Star Plus’ Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum opposite Deepika Kakar. In 2021, Karan bumped into his neighbor Ravi Dubey, who was looking for an actor for his show, Udaariyan, which aired on Colors. Everything clicked for Karan and he bagged the role of Angad Maan in the show. Sharing his views on his role in Udaaryan in an interview, Karan said:
Ravi and Sargun are not only dear friends but also very enterprising individuals. So, as an actor, if you get an opportunity to collaborate with your friends and create something together, you shouldn’t miss that opportunity. I feel lucky to be a part of their first show ‘Udaariyan’ and have this wonderful journey ahead. As for my role, Angad is a complex but dynamic and funny character. I think her presence in ‘Udaariyaan’ will create a new layer in the plot of the show which will definitely bring dichotomy for the audience to enjoy. I am thankful to COLORS for giving me this great opportunity as this is my first show with them and it couldn’t have been better. “
In an interview, when Karan was asked about his future prospects in films, he replied:
What’s the point of doing movies when I’m doing such a great job on TV? Television offers me a lot of variety. Films are definitely a bigger medium, but they don’t offer me anything interesting, so I’m happy to be a TV actor. The only thing I miss is doing full-fledged comedy. But my current show gives me that, so no complaints. Fortunately, television now has a very wide range. You won’t see the same saas-bahu sagas on TV anymore. A lot of diversity satisfies the actor in me.”

In 2018, he did Vikram Bhatt’s web series Spotlight 2 which aired on Viu. In an interview, Grover said:
This web series gave me a chance to change my image as an actor. I’ve never played a guy who has so many emotional ups and downs throughout the show.”
He also expressed his opinion about his character in Spotlight 2, saying:
He is a musician who reaches the pinnacle of success and then falls to the point where he becomes life-threatening under the influence of drugs.”
He was also featured as Shlok in the web series, Vodka Shots in 2018.

Confrontation
In 2007, Karan Grover, who played the lead character in the TV show ‘Saarrthi’ (Star Plus), suddenly left the show. His character was killed off in the series. It was shown to the audience that this was a twist on the natural progression of the show’s track whereas it was a strategic move to remove Karan from the show. In an interview, Karan explained,
I have been on Sart since its inception. But I had to move on. My new show ‘Meri Awaaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni’ did not give me much time for ‘Saarthi’. So I decided to quit. I told his producer Asit Modi about my predicament and he fortunately understood it. That’s why they decided to kill my character. From March 10 to May 15, I made a two-month deadline so that there would be no bad blood between us.”
Although Karan thought everything was fine, the show’s producer Asit Modi disagreed with Karan’s choice. In an interview, Asit Modi said,
No one can tell me their priorities. I will not compromise in my story. If the story demands, Karan will have to return to the show. we can get it back”
He added,
My story is strong and people are not going to stop watching the show just because Karan is no longer a part of the show. In fact the TRP of Saarti is much higher than Mary Avaz Ko…
