In 2022, he was diagnosed with a rare long-term neuromuscular disease, myasthenia gravis, and was admitted to Hiranandan Hospital in Mumbai. Arun Bali, 79, passed away on October 7, 2022 at 4:30 am in Mumbai. His son Ankush talked about his father’s chronic illness and his last days in an interview. She said,

Father left us. He suffered from myasthenia gravis. He had mood swings for two or three days. He told the carer he wanted to go to the toilet and when he came out he said he wanted to sit down and then he never got up.
