Career

After completing his studies, Rajni was appointed as a government school teacher in J&K. She and her husband were working in two different schools in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district in 2009. Since 2017, he has been working at Gopal Pora Government High School. However, the area where he was stationed was dangerous and Rajni along with his wife repeatedly requested the authorities to move them to a safer area.

On 31 May 2022, Rajni went to school with his wife and daughter, who left after he was pulled out of the school. Rajni walked towards the main entrance of the school where the terrorist shot him in the head.
