The film director, Eduardo Roy Jr, never mentioned Lola Igna’s cause of death in his film.
Her story was featured in the 2019 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino Awards multi-award winning film “Lola Igna”, which depicts the story of an old woman who hopes to pass away so she can be with her husband.
However, things change when he finds out that he could hold a world record for being so old.

The film never talks about her death as the media attention on her faded after someone else was awarded the title of longest living grandmother.

After attending a wake, Lola cries in front of Tim, declaring that she wants to die because she is tired of going to people’s funerals.
Despite Nida’s objections, Tim continues to make his great-grandmother’s coffin after realizing the difficulty of the situation.

As Lola Igna opens up to guests and supporters, she demonstrates how to operate her technical equipment.
Later, when Ana is pregnant, she makes peace with Nida and travels with her son and grandmother.
After a successful delivery next to the rice paddy, Ana goes into labor again, but when she sees Carias, she dies. Instead, Lola Igna uses her coffin for Ana’s funeral.

Tim continues to live on Igna’s farm and looks after his sister.
