Kaylea Titford Death: 16-Year-Old Demise
Kaylea Titford death shocked many people because of the gross nature of her demise.
Police found the 16-year-old’s decaying body with maggots feeding on her as she lay in soiled clothing and bed linen. Her dirty and cluttered room was full of flies and maggots.
Emergency services who found Titford’s dead body described to judges that they felt “physically sick” seeing her rotting body.
16-year-old Kaylea Titford was 146 kg and morbidly obese with a body mass index (BMI) of an astounding 70.
Kaylea Titford was wheelchair-bound due to a birth condition called spina bifida.
Her weight gain was because of her physical limitations due to spina bifida.
Spina bifida is a birth defect when the spine and spinal cord do not form properly.
Titford had been restricted to her bed for more than six months during the UK’s Covid lockdown.
She died at her family home in Newtown, Powys, Wales, in October 2020.
The court was informed that Kaylea had been discharged from dietetics and physiotherapy services in 2019.
The last time a social worker saw her was at her home.
Her father claimed that the responsibility of looking after Kaylea was her mother, Sarah’s.
He used to take her to medical appointments and care but stopped after she became a teenager.
Kaylea was a cheerful and pleasant girl who had recently celebrated her 16th birthday.
The unfortunate victim of negligence, Kaylea Titford, was a student at Newtown High School.
She showed impressive potential in wheelchair basketball in her hometown of Newtown.
The 16-year-old also enjoyed board games like Jenga and was good at pool.

Kaylea Titford Father Alun Titford Arrested
Kaylea Titford’s father, Alun Titford, has been arrested for killing his daughter.
Her mother, 40-year-old Sarah Lloyd-Jones, previously admitted to gross negligence that led to her death.
Alun and Sarah are the parents of six children. It is very upsetting that one of their children was in such a dire condition, and no one ever cared.
Alun Titford is branded on the media as the “Lazy Father” who neglected his daughter to her death.
Titford admitted that he could have been a better father.
He would return home from work as a removal worker and watch tv and sleep, disregarding his children due to fatigue and laziness.
According to Alun, Kaylea’s weighed increased by almost 13-19 kg in six months.
45-year-old Alun is charged with gross negligence manslaughter and was warned to expect prison time after he was convicted at Mold Crown Court.
Alun was granted bail and will be sentenced alongside his wife Sarah at Swansea Crown Court on 1 March.
Titford’s condition was described as “unfit for any animal,” as her dead body was in soiled clothing and bed linen full of maggots.
