Joseph Galfy was well-known for his legal career and role as a partner at Kochanski, Baron, and Galfy, PC in Rahway, New Jersey.
According to his obituary, Galfy served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1970 as a major with the 24th Infantry Division, JAGC. He graduated from Seton Hall with a law degree and a bachelor’s degree.
Galfy’s sister Marcella Galfy predeceased him; he is survived by his brother James Galfy, his wife, Diane, and a number of nieces and nephews.

They soon discovered a piece of paper with Kai Lawrence’s phone number in the family room, hidden beneath a laptop. The master bedroom also contained a train ticket from May 12, 2013.
The detectives recognized the victim after they reviewed the surveillance footage from the train station and saw him purchasing a ticket and conversing with a man with unruly hair. He was quickly recognized as a homeless hitchhiker named Caleb McGillivary, also known as Kai Lawrence.

The New Jersey Police issued an official statement and an arrest warrant in Kai’s name, asking the public to alert them if they saw him because his phone was unreachable and no one knew how to locate him.
Where Is The Murderer Caleb “Kai” McGillivary Now?
According to NJ.com, McGillvary will be released in October 2061 from the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton, where he is serving his sentence.
The most recent denial of McGillvary’s request to have his sentence reversed was in August 2021. Galfy’s injuries were the result of much more than just an attempt to thwart a sexual advance, according to the medical examiner’s testimony, which was cited by the appeals court at the time, according to AP News.
