Journalist Lizah Mutuku posted a video of the MPs pleading for emergency assistance at 10:30 p.m. on her X platform.
“We are in the middle of nowhere, and we are lost.” We were on a rescue operation in the Mnazini area today when we got lost in the river on the way back.
“Thus, we are lost in the middle of the ocean with no idea where to go. We’re not sure where we are right now,” Wario remarked.

In response to the incident, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki stated that a multi-agency team had been sent in to assist with the investigation.
“Security agencies have established contact with a passenger in the boat that went missing earlier this evening in the waters of Tana River,” Kindiki stated.
“At this point, all eighteen passengers and the crew are safe, but they are stuck at an unidentified location. Overnight, the Kenya Coast Guard is leading a multi-agency search and rescue operation.”
Is Ali Wario Found Yet?
After going missing in Tana River on Saturday night, two MPs and two ward representatives were found and successfully rescued.
Before their boat vanished, the four lawmakers and seven other people are alleged to have been on a food distribution mission in the county.
Search operations were conducted early on Sunday morning by a team from the Kenya Red Cross society, which also located Garsen MP Ali Wario and his counterpart Said Hiribae from Galole.
In his update, the Area County Commissioner stated that prior to their evacuation to safety, the legislators were discovered in an area known as Feji.
In the past few days, the Tana River has flooded as a result of the intense rains that are battering most of the nation.
