Cause of death of Delaney Leierzapf linked to accident
A collision occurred on US 221 North when a 2012 GMC pickup truck crossed the center line and collided with a northbound vehicle driven by Lori McIntire.
The van continued south and crashed head-on into a 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Caius Arrington, with Delaney Leierzapf as a passenger.
Leierzapf tragically lost his life in the accident. Two others suffered serious injuries and were transported to the Mission Trauma Center in Asheville.
Fortunately, four people involved in the collision refused to receive medical treatment.
