Chaya Raichik Murder News, Real Or Hoax – Where Is She Now?

Chaya Raichik manages Libs on TikTok, an online platform, and formerly worked in the real estate industry.

She reposts videos created by liberal and LGBTQ people, often adding negative, mocking, or hateful comments.

Her accounts spread anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, misinformation about transgender healthcare, and promote discrimination.

With over 2 million Twitter followers, Libs of TikTok has become very influential on the political right in America.

Her accounts have been temporarily or permanently suspended on some platforms for violating policies.

Raichik has gained attention within right-wing circles recently. She even made an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show.

Some of her contentious opinions include believing that adults educating children about LGBT identities is damaging.

She has also advocated for the immediate dismissal of teachers who reveal their homosexuality to their students.

Chaya Raichik Murder News: Real Or Hoax

In January 2024, Chaya was surprisingly appointed as an adviser to the Oklahoma State Library Committee, even though she did not live in Oklahoma.

Soon after she took on this role, a 16-year-old student named Nex Benedict was murdered.

Nex had faced intense bullying and harassment after Raichik reposted one of Nex’s TikTok videos on the Libs of TikTok account.

Many people blamed Raichik and Libs of TikTok for creating an environment that contributed to Nex’s death.

In response, Chaya tweeted that the media was falsely accusing her of “stochastic terrorism” and claimed she was now receiving death threats herself.

However, many have argued that Raichik bears some moral responsibility. By reposting Nex’s video to her millions of followers, she exposed Nex to horrendous trolling and harassment.

Her anti-LGBTQ rhetoric has cultivated an online ecosystem of hate that targets vulnerable youth.

Though she did not directly encourage violence, her incendiary speech and willful amplification of others’ content fuel discrimination and cruelty.

In the wake of this tragedy, many have renewed calls for social media platforms to curb accounts like Libs on TikTok.

However, Raichik remains defiant that she has done nothing wrong, even as her appointment to the Oklahoma committee casts doubt and she continues to face intense criticism online.

The death of Nex Benedict has highlighted the real-world dangers posed by some extremist social media personas.

Chaya Raichik – Where Is She Now?

Chaya created the Twitter account “Libs of TikTok” in 2020.

Formerly a real estate agent, Raichik posts videos from progressive TikTok users, adds negative comments, and shares them with her conservative followers. This grew her audience but also made liberals despise her.

Raichik started Libs of TikTok in 2021 after discovering TikTok during COVID lockdowns. She gained followers by mocking progressive videos she found.

Recently, a 16-year-old Oklahoma student, Nex Benedict, was murdered after Libs of TikTok reposted their video.

Though not legally responsible, many blame Raichik’s online harassment of LGBTQ youth like Nex for promoting the culture that led to Nex’s death.

Raichik claims she now gets death threats but largely avoids apologising for her role.

Critics say she fuels real-life violence against vulnerable groups, even if unintentionally.

Though Libs of TikTok keeps stoking outrage for clicks, Raichik refuses to recognise how her extremism harms people.

In the aftermath, Raichik claimed she had received death threats herself. However, she has largely avoided discussing her role or apologising for Nex Benedict’s slaying.

Critics argue she is accountable for fueling the very hatred that claimed Nex’s life, even if she is not legally culpable.

The tragedy highlights how extremist media personas can enable real-world harassment and violence, intentionally or not.
