Mulray was an Australian comedian, radio and television personality, and writer.

He started his career in radio in the 1970s and gained national fame in the 1980s as the host of the top-rated Triple M breakfast radio show “The Doug Mulray Breakfast Show.”

He also hosted several television shows, including “The Comedy Company,” “The Doug Mulray Show,” and “The Money or the Gun.”

In addition to his radio and television work, Mulray was also an accomplished writer. He has written several books, including “The Mulray File” and “Life’s Little Instruction Book According to Doug Mulray.”

Doug Mulray Health Before Death

Sources have confirmed that he was not in a good place and has been hospitalized since December 2022. 

He was known as “Uncle Doug” to many of his longtime listeners, and he died in intensive care at a Sydney hospital on Thursday.

Although the cause of his death is understood, he had been battling poor health recently.

Many believe he died because of poor health, but none have publicly shared the reason. 

Uncle Doug was surrounded by longtime business partner Hamish Cameron and his wife, Lizzie.

Doug struggled with a chronic illness for several months and was getting treatment in intensive care at a hospital in Sydney.

But after getting several treatments and medical attention for over four months, he passed away at 71.

Sources like Daily Mail have confirmed that he died because of chronic illness, but his family or autopsy report has not yet confirmed it. 

Mulray was one of the pioneers of Australian radio in the 1980s and ’90s and spent most of his career at Triple M, which he helped launch.

His last public appearance was reportedly at a Triple M staff reunion in December 2021, just weeks before he was admitted to the hospital.

At the reunion, he allegedly said, “We were the right thing, at the right time, in the right place, with the right attitude.”

His passing is a significant loss to the Australian entertainment industry and will be greatly missed.

Mulray was survived by his wife, Liz Muir, and two children. The radio personality has twins with his first wife, Thomas and Rosemary.
