Zoya Nasir was born on Monday, 15 October 1990 (age 30 years; as of 2020), and she hails from Lahore, Pakistan. She did her schooling at Resource Academia, and Garrison Academy for Girls in Lahore. Zoya Nasir was introduced to the entertainment industry at a very early age. In an interview, she said,
My father, Nasir Adeeb, makes movies so I basically grew up on sets.”
She pursued her graduation at Lahore College of Arts And Science (LACAS), Pakistan. Later, she also pursued a course in Cosmetology.

At a very early age, Zoya got married and moved to England to live with her husband. At the age of 21, she divorced her husband and returned to Pakistan. Later, she dated Christian Betzmann, a German travel vlogger.

In May 2021, she called off her relationship with Betzmann after his take on Israel and Palestine issue in which he criticized Pakistan’s stand. In a post, Betzmann wrote,
Sharing something which is all over mainstream media won’t make any difference. Stop feeling guilty for others when you’re littering your own country, not helping your own people and community.”
Days after Betzmann’s post, Zoya shared,
It’s with a heavy heart I’m announcing that Christian Betzmann and I are no longer engaged to be married. His sudden change in stance towards my culture, my country, my people and insensitivity towards my religion has lead me to take this difficult and irrevocable decision.”
Career
As a Beautician
Before pursuing a career in acting, Zoya worked as a creative head at Sabs Salon in Lahore, Pakistan. Later, she moved back to England where she held the position of product developer for a makeup company. Thereafter, she moved to the U.S., where pursued a degree in cosmetology. She has three salons in Miami, Boston and New York. After earning her degree in cosmetology, she moved from America to Pakistan.
As an Actress
In 2019, Zoya Nasir made her television debut with the Pakistani soap opera Hania in which she played the titular role of a compromising wife who tolerates domestic violence and is victimized by the people around her.

In 2019, she appeared as Narmeen Durrani in the Pakistani romantic television series ‘Deewangi.’ In 2020, she starred in the Pakistani television series ‘Zebaish’ in which she played the role of Natasha.

Controversy
In November 2020, Zoya Nasir was criticized by her fans and followers for wearing a figure-hugging Halloween costume, which offended some religious fanatics in Pakistan.

Apparently, on 1 November 2020, Zoya’s boyfriend, Christian Betzmann, uploaded a picture on his Instagram account with Zoya Nasir who was wearing a skintight Halloween costume. Thereafter, the Pakistani actress became a target of hate speech in the comment section of the Instagram post for wearing an indecent outfit and embracing western cultural norms.

Facts/Trivia
- Since childhood, Zoya wanted to become an actress, but she started off her career as a beautician because in the 90s acting wasn’t considered a reputable career for women in Pakistan. In an interview, she said,
Around the ‘90s, acting was never even an option to be considered as it was frowned upon back in the days. So, I leaned on to the beautician part and channelled my love for acting, poetry and music into painting canvases. That was suppressed but I always knew I wanted to be an artist.”
