Anthony (Anth) Peter Chatzimanolakis was a family person from Canada who came into the people’s eyes following his arrest on a string of charges, including motor vehicle theft, carrying a loaded gun without consent and criminal harassment.
He was in custody and awaiting trial, but the sad news was recently shared, which left everyone shattered.

Why Was Anthony Chatzimanolakis Arrested?
Anthony Chatzimanolakis was arrested on September 15, 2022, on charges including car theft and possessing a loaded gun. His case was still before the courts, and Chatzimanolakis had not been convicted.

Chatzimanolakis’s lawyer, Carmello Truscello, said his bail review hearing was scheduled for April 14 in Toronto. Truscello reported Anthony’s wounds from a 2019 car crash were starting to burst while awaiting the hearing.
The jail reportedly scheduled Chatzimanolakis for surgery on November 3, 2022, at Sunnybrook Hospital, but the surgery was canceled for no apparent reason.

Melissa Chatzimanolakis Brother Anthony Chatzimanolakis Died Waiting Trail
As said earlier, Melissa Chatzimanolakis’ brother Anthony Chatzimanolakis was awaiting trial. Unfortunately, he passed away before the trial. He died on March 25, 2023, at Toronto South Detention Centre in Etobicoke.
The Ministry of the Solicitor General also confirmed the news leaving everyone shocked. The ministry also said paramedics were called to the prison that day after staff saw an unresponsive inmate in medical pain in Anthony’s cell.

Furthermore, they didn’t give more details as the investigation regarding Anthony’s death was going on. On the other side, the family reported the initial autopsies hinted Anthony may have died of a drug overdose.
However, it can’t be confirmed as the investigation continues. Reportedly, the Funeral Mass was scheduled for April 3 at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, followed by an Entombment at Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Anthony Chatzimanolakis was a family man born on November 25, 1992. He was 30 years old at the time of his tragic death. Anthony was survived by his supportive parents, Lina (Mother) and George (Father).
Chatzimanolakis was not only the child of his parents as he was raised alongside his sister named, Melissa Chatzimanolakis. Also, he had a grandmother named Lili.
Likewise, he was a devout uncle to his nephew Leo. While growing up, Anthony and Melissa were inseparable as they were only ten months apart.

Melissa also talked with the media about her brother, saying he had a good heart despite being arrested. Melissa also said she visited her brother at least once a week while he was in jail.
However, they couldn’t meet physically, and it is reproed that they met virtually. Following the death, people pay tribute to the 30-year-old man and condolence to the devasted family.
