In 2014, he made his acting debut in Lai Bhar as Rukman. In 2015, she appeared as Pihu in the Marathi romantic drama Tu Hi Re, directed by Sanjay Jadhav. Mrunal moved on to play the role of Vasanth in the 2017 film Andya Cha Funda directed by Santosh Shetty.

Mrunal gained more attention after his work in the 2015 Hindi thriller film ‘Drishyam’, a remake of the 2013 Malayalam language film ‘Drishyam’. In the film, Ajay Devgn played the role of father Vijay Salgaonkar and Shriya Saran played the role of mother Nandini Salgaonkar.
