In 2001, he debuted as an actor in the Hindi film, ‘Mitti’ in which he played the role of Qasma. He has played supporting role in various Hindi films, including ‘Darna Mana Hai’ (2003), ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ (2006), ‘Dhamaal’ (2007), ‘Happy New Year’ (2014), ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ (2020), and ‘Angrezi Medium’ (2020).

On 13 January 2016, Kiku was arrested for mimicking Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. He was arrested for ‘deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings’ under Sec 295 A of the IPC.
In 2019, he was accused by the Bollywood art director, Nitin Kulkarni for doing money fraud of Rs 50.70 lakh. Nitin filed a complaint against six people, including comedian Kiku Sharda, who was associated with a charitable trust, The Mumbai Fest.
