Florine Mark Death Cause: How Did Weight Watchers Former President Die?
According to The Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield, prominent metro Detroit businesswoman Florine Mark, the former president and CEO of The Weight Watchers Group, has passed away.
Mark has a 90-year-old age. No explanation was offered. She was interviewed by WXYZ a few days before her passing about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Israel.

Her grandson is a reserve officer for the Israeli Defense Forces, and following the Hamas attack, his unit was put into active duty. According to WXYZ, Mark just traveled to Israel to celebrate his wedding.
According to Linda Solomon, a close friend of Mark’s, “her heart was breaking for everyone.”
She was the most remarkable woman and respected by everyone for her amazing philanthropy, generosity and for building up other women,” Solomon said. She was always with us all to help us achieve our dreams.

She claims to have dropped 50 pounds on Weight Watchers, which inspired her to bring the program to Detroit. Mark was born and raised in Detroit. She kept buying franchises, this time in 13 states plus Canada and Mexico.
Our Brett Kast spoke with Mark on Wednesday. Mark has family members who are currently caught up in the Israel-Hamas conflict. She claimed that just two weeks prior, she had been to Israel to attend her grandson’s wedding.
Her Farmington Hills-bred grandson Mataan, 29, is a reserve officer in the Israeli Defense Forces. Prior to relocating to Israel, he completed his education at the University of Michigan and Cranbrook High School.

Mark was active in a number of charitable projects, including those with the Women of Tomorrow, Children’s Hospital of Michigan, University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center, and the Detroit Institute for Children.
According to her biography, she served on the boards of the Michigan Fitness Foundation, the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health, and Sports, and the Governor’s Economic Council Advisory Board.
