Lamar High School is on lockdown after an on-campus shooting that happened on Monday. Arlington Police reported that the shooting incident happened around 6:55 am. Monday on campus.
Meanwhile, the shooting didn’t occur inside the campus as it was outside. Students at Lamar High were on Spring Break last week, so this was their first day back to school.
Almost 3,000 kids were at this 9th-12th grade school. Following the deadly shooting, two injured students are receiving medical treatment.
Lamar High School Shooting Update
The Lamar High School Shooting news has left everyone scared, mainly the parents of kids who were present in the school. The shooting recently happened at around 6:55 this morning.
After that, the Arlington Police Department responded to the Lamar High School campus after receiving multiple reports of shots fired just outside the school building.

The Police Department believes that the suspected shooter never entered the school. They also revealed that Arlington ISD would give more details about student release once the lockdown at Lamar HS has been lifted.

Lamar High School Shooting Suspect Arrested: Where Is He Now?
The Lamar High School shooting suspect has already been arrested. Following the incident, the Officers were able to locate the suspect and take that individual into custody shortly after arriving on the scene.
So, the scene is now secure, and we have the suspected shooter in custody. Despite that, the Arlington Police Department has requested parents to get in touch with Arlington ISD regarding student release.

At the time of this post, the department hasn’t released any details about the suspect’s identity. Also, it is unknown whether the suspect is a Lamar High School student or not.

Lamar High School Shooting Suspect and Victims Names
At the time of this writing, the Police department has not released anything about the shooting suspect, but the shooter is said to be male.
Two injured were a male and a female. One is in critical condition, while the other is said not to have non-life-threatening injuries. All people involved were under the age of 17.
It is reported that the injured people were from the school, and they are receiving treatment. Further information about the student’s health has not been released.
Following the shooting incident, Parents were urged not to come to the school and should instead look for information from our partners at Arlington ISD regarding student release.
