On May 9, she and her partner were located in Evansville, Indiana, after a police chase. Vicky died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound while Casey White was taken into custody.

Vicky and Casey White’s romantic relationship began in 2020 while Casey was incarcerated in state prison. But they were not married, and although they shared the same family name, they were unrelated.
They communicated regularly, and Vicky reportedly provided him with extra food while he was in prison.

Casey White has entered a guilty plea to the charge of escape concerning the Vicky White murder case, resulting in the murder charge being dropped.
He now faces a possible life sentence for the escape charge, with sentencing scheduled for June 8, as reported by the Lauderdale County District Attorney’s Office.
In court, Casey White stated that he and Vicky White fell in love while waiting for the murder trial of Connie Ridgeway, and they planned to escape and start a new life together.
During the hearing, as per News 19 reporters in the courtroom, Casey White apologized to Vicky’s mother and admitted that the events did not go according to plan.
Surveillance footage captured them getting into a patrol car, later abandoned in a parking lot a few miles away.
Casey White is also facing a capital murder trial on August 14 for the 2015 stabbing death of Connie Ridgeway in Rogersville. He is set to be sentenced for the escape charge on June 8th at 1 pm.
