On 28 March 2010, Romiit Raaj got married to Tina Kakkar, who is a Senior Manager at the Times of India. In an interview, Romiit talked about their relationship and said,
I had come to know about Tina three years back through a common friend. We exchanged our contact information and were in touch by email, but we never spoke or met. However, it was only recently that I spoke to her on the phone and expressed my desire to meet her. I went to Pune to meet her and the moment I saw her, I fell in love with her. I was equally surprised. She is a person whom I knew for three years but never interacted with. But I think it was destined to happen.”
The couple has a daughter named Reha Raj Prasher. In an interview, Romiit talked about his daughter and said,
Life is so amazing with my daughter. She loves me unconditionally, it’s absolutely amazing. She just wants to play with me, shop with me, eat out and have fun with me. We play sports together and it’s absolutely awesome when she has her opinions about everything in life. She finds me cute and handsome.”
Before marrying Tina Kakkar, Romiit Raaj got engaged to television actress Shilpa Shinde. However, the marriage was called off by Shilpa Shinde. In an interview, when Shilpa Shinde’s mother was asked about Shilpa Shinde and Romiit Raaj’s broken engagement, she opened up and said that Shilpa was facing problems with Romiit’s family. She said,
Romiit had proposed to her. And my daughter had accepted his proposal because he was a good person. Both of them decided to get married. But after some time they realized that their opinions are very different. In fact, both of their families are also very different. And it is very obvious that for a long-term relationship, you can’t compromise on such things. That is why my daughter decided to call off the marriage. She thought that it would be better to end the relationship now than going for a divorce later.”

In 2003, Romiit Raaj made his television debut with the StarPlus television series Shaka Laka Boom Boom in which he played the role of Karan.
In 2004, he appeared in the Hindi television show Hatim in which he played the role of Prince Vishal. In 2011, he appeared as a lead character in the Sony television series Adalaat. In an interview, Romiit Raaj talked about his television show Adalaat and said,
It gives me immense satisfaction as an actor when there are people who are crying their hearts out at the sudden death of Varun. I am gratified with the kind of mails that I have been getting over the last few days. There are girls who say they have wept quite a lot on seeing Varun’s death. I will have to thank Dada for teaching me every nuance that Varun follows. It is only because of him that Varun as a character has been able to blossom. Also, the creative team has provided the right impact and bond between KD and Varun. This is completely a KD Pathak’s show, but to see the amount of love that Varun gets makes me happy.”
Subsequently, he has appeared in various television shows like Maayka (2007), Thoda Hai Bas Thode Ki Jaruraat Hai (2010), Casino (2020), Vighnaharta Ganesh (2021), and Yashomaati Maiyaa Ka Nandlala (2022).
In 2005, Romiit Raaj made his film debut with the Hindi film Hum Dum in which he played the role of Siddhant Dey. In 2006, he appeared in the Hindi film Yatra in which he played the role of Yaman D. Joglekar.

He recalled that a creative director invited him into a Bandra coffee shop. When he went there, he realized that the creative director had other intentions and urged Romiit to compromise. According to Romiit, the creative director wanted sexual favours from him. Romiit quoted,
I have heard of people compromising but since I don’t interact with such people I have never been in their group. I have worked in my career on my terms and conditions. I completely believe in hard work and professionalism. Once a creative director met me at a coffee shop in Bandra and he tried to tell me how I need to jump off boundaries and should be ready to do anything for a good role. He even stated that he meets so many people for work so how will he remember me if I am not ready to open up?. This happened to me in the initial days of my career I am talking about 10 years back. After the incident I got up from there and thanked that person for the meeting. I just left, so my vibes were very clear that I was not interested.”
