National Kabaddi Championships
After completing his formal education, Guhan began practising Kabaddi professionally at the Navi Mumbai Sports Association in Vashi. He then began participating in many inter-college, district, and national-level kabaddi championships organized in Tamil Nadu.

In September 2023, R Guhan participated in the Chinnappampatti Salem Kabaddi championships and won a silver medal.
