She was last seen on December 10 and later told her kids on the phone that she would be home soon, but she never returned. Investigators are looking into Heather’s sudden disappearance as a homicide.
The Detroit branch of the FBI shared a plea on their Twitter handle, saying they would give a $20,000 reward to anyone with information that could help them find the missing woman.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller III said on March 31, 2023, that the murder investigation led them to one person of interest after they analyzed several different possibilities.

He went on to reveal that the person of interest was still in jail on unrelated charges, and he was none other than Heather’s boyfriend. Fuller didn’t give the name.
Fuller also said Heather’s boyfriend was taken into custody four days after she was reported missing. He was arrested for ditching his parole rope and is held in a federal jail through the end of April.

Where Is Heather Mae Kelley Boyfriend Now?
As Heather Mae Kelley’s unnamed boyfriend was arrested, he is not in jail. Court documents reviewed by Target 8 indicated that the boyfriend was spending a federal sentence.
The outlet reported that Kelley’s boyfriend was locked up for a 2010 cocaine conspiracy with a murder-for-hire plot. The unnamed man is also aware of his girlfriend’s missing case.

He told detectives he had last seen her when Kelley dropped him off at the halfway home on the afternoon of December 10. However, phone records showed that he and Heather were together at the restaurant that evening.
His mobile was turned off after that but was later tracked to an area near Heather’s car. Meanwhile, his GPS tether wasn’t turned on until the following day. Due to that, detectives have also hinted that the missing case of Heather may be related to her boyfriend.
Furthermore, Kelley’s boyfriend even wrote a letter to a federal judge saying that Kelley’s brother sent him death threats showing a gun, but the request was denied due to his ongoing case.
On the other hand, Kelley’s brother, whose name has not been shared, denied that he had threatened the boyfriend.
