Khyali Saharan is an Indian comedian and politician who is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party. He came into limelight after participating in the reality stand-up comedy series The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Season 2 which aired on STAR One.

Khyali Sahara was born on Sunday, January 1, 1978 (age 45; as of 2023) in 18 SPD Badopal village of Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. He studied in the village school until the 5th grade. He then attended a nearby village school to complete his 10th grade. While in 10th grade, he failed three times and decided to drop out. After that he shifted to Sri Ganganagar in search of work. Sahara was good at acting, singing, mimicking and dancing since childhood.

Career
While in Sri Ganganagar, Khyal worked as a swimming pool guard for 5-6 months. Later he started working at JCT Mills in Sri Ganganagar. While working in a textile factory, Khyali met with an accident and severely injured his right hand. He was in the hospital for about 13 months, where he underwent various operations. After finishing his handwork, Khyal again joined a textile factory and worked there for about 5 years. Meanwhile, he also worked part-time at Ganesh Cinema in Sri Ganganagar, selling tickets outside the cinema. Soon after, he connected with the theater group and performed his first play “The Poster”. While working with the band, Sahara later started doing dramatic road shows and stage shows in various cities like Jaipur and Bikaner. Once when he was acting in a play in Jaipur, he got an opportunity to attend an acting workshop in Chandigarh. He then decided to move to Chandigarh where he started acting as a host in various stage shows.

His comedy skills attracted various organizers and he went on to host the stage shows of various famous singers like Gurdas Maan, Jazzy B, Hans Raj Hans, Mika Singh and Daler Mehndi. Khayal would earn Rs. From 2000 to GEL. 2500 GEL for the show. He worked as a host for about 5 years, and in December 2005, he appeared in the auditions for the reality television stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Challenge Season 2 (aired on STAR One) and was selected. She was the only contestant on the show to be selected from North India. While Rauf Lala emerged as the winner of the show, Khyali Sahara was the second runner-up. During the show, Khyali was offered a comic role in the Bollywood film Journey to Bombay Goa: Laughter Unlimited (2007). In April 2022, Khyali Sahara entered politics by joining the Aam Aadmi Party. Later he was appointed as AAP Bikaner Division Chief.

Philanthropy
Apart from being a comedian and politician, Khayali Sahara is also an active philanthropist. In 2011, about 20 bigha land of Sahara and Rs. 1.25 crore established Oasis Sainik School in his village 18 SPD Badopal, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan to prepare boys academically, physically and mentally to enter the National Defense Academy. He is one of the trustees of the school. Khyal often organizes free camps for the physically challenged.

Booked for rape
On 14 March 2023, a 25-year-old woman filed a complaint against Khyali Sahara at the Mansarovar Police Station, Jaipur, accusing her of raping her in a hotel room in Jaipur’s Mansarovar area on the pretext of helping her get a job. Following the complaint, a case was registered against Khyal under Section 376 (punishment for sexual assault) of the Indian Penal Code. Apparently, the incident happened on March 13, 2023. According to the police, Khayal had booked two rooms in the hotel, one for himself and the other for two women who contacted Khayal a month ago and asked for help for work. In the evening, Khayal called the women to his room and offered them beer. After they refused, he forced the women to drink beer and started consuming it. Later, when one of the women left the room, he allegedly drunkenly raped the other women.
