These readings were well above Florida’s legal threshold for intoxication, which is set at 0.08.

The arrest report indicates that Karvois’ SUV was stopped a short distance away from the crash site, in a westbound turn lane. Witnesses played a crucial role in helping law enforcement identify Karvois as the sole operator of the vehicle.

The aftermath of the crash also revealed the presence of empty liquor bottles, a clear plastic bag containing cocaine, and various prescription pills in Karvois’ SUV.

During a hearing at the Palm Beach County Jail on May 6, Circuit Judge Luis Delgado set Karvois’ bail at $100,000. It was ordered that he wear an ankle monitor upon release.
