No, Kyle Busch is not in prison. Yes, he has not been sentenced to jail. It’s true that he has been arrested for a criminal offense, but he is free as of recent news for updates.
The National Guard detained the NASCAR star while trying to depart from Cancun’s international airport. During that time, he enjoyed his trip to Mexico; however, things didn’t go well for him.

While scanning his luggage, a pistol with hollow-point bullets was discovered, leading to the arrest, according to a statement from the Attorney General’s Office.
So, the two-time NASCAR champion was detained for carrying weapons. He violated the law, which led to his arrest. In addition, sources claim he didn’t have a license for that gun.

In addition, he was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. So, that was the punishment given to Busch for having a gun and ammunition. However, things didn’t settle there.
After some time, the NASCAR racer was seen out of prison, which raised confusion in many minds. So, what happened?
Well, another choice was placed for Busch, which was his way out of serving time. Another conditional punishment for Busch was to pay a bond.
Although the amount of the bond is not made public, he was able to leave Mexico after paying that bond, as noted by ABC News.
After Busch’s release, he also apologized, calling the incident a mistake. He took it over social media and wrote;
“a valid concealed carry permit from my local authority and adhere to all handgun laws, but I made a mistake by forgetting it was in my bag.” He adds;
“Discovery of the handgun led to my detainment while the situation was resolved. I was not aware of Mexican law and had no intention of bringing a handgun into Mexico.” Further, the father of two wrote;
“When it was discovered, I fully cooperated with the authorities, accepted the penalties, and returned to North Carolina. I apologize for my mistake and appreciate the respect shown by all parties as we resolved the matter. My family and I consider this issue closed.”
