Dev Mohan made his acting debut with the Malayalam film ‘Sufiyum Sujatayum’ which was released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime. In the film, he appeared in one of the lead roles alongside Aditi Rao Hadar and Jayasuriya.

- In an interview, Dev revealed that while he was working at IT Hub in Bangalore as a corporate employee, one of his friends advised him to pursue a modeling career, after which he participated in the Mr India 2016 beauty pageant and was selected among the top 15 contestants. She said,
I have always been a fitness enthusiast and worked out regularly. It was one of my Iranian model friends at the gym, Amin, who suggested I model and even try out for Mr. India. I managed to make it to the top 15 contestants of 2016.
- For the role of Sufi in his debut film ‘Sufiyum Sujatayum’, Dev Mohan trained for two years to learn Arabic and Sufi dance. It took him almost nine months to learn the perfect Sufi vortex.
