Akshata Murty is an Indian businesswoman and fashion designer based in the UK. She is the wife of Rishi Sunak, the 57th Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She is the daughter of NR Narayana Murthy, who is the co-founder of Infosys, a multinational IT company.

He attended Claremont McKenna College in California to major in economics and French. Before pursuing his MBA, he worked briefly at Unilever and Deloitte. After completing her MBA, Akshata joined Tendris, a Dutch cleantech incubator fund, as Marketing Director in 2007. He launched his own clothing line in 2009. On starting his own business, he said:
I understand that there may be some curiosity about what I do given the achievements of my parents, but I hope that one day this business will be able to stand on its own feet, and I will be able to talk about its merits and not others. In 2013, he became a director of Catamaran Ventures. He began serving as a board member for Claremont McKenna College and the San Francisco Exploratorium in 2017. He is a director of two companies, New & Lingwood, a menswear company, and Digme Fitness, a gym chain.

In April 2022, Akshata Murthy was questioned about her income tax status in the UK. According to some media reports, he applied for non-domicile tax status in the UK, which exempted him from paying taxes on dividends received from foreign companies.
