In 2012, Aashish Mehrotra made his debut in television with the show Fear Files: Darr Ki Sacchi Tasvirein on Zee TV. In 2013, he appeared in the show ‘Paanch – 5 Wrong Make A Right’ on Channel V India in which he played the role of Yudhishtir “Yudi” Kharbanda.
In 2014, he played the role of Sanjay Patil in the show Bandhan – Saari Umar Humein Sang Rehna Hai on Zee TV. In 2015, he appeared in the show Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum as Shaleen Sabharwal on And TV.
In 2016, he played the role of Yashvardhan “Yash” Bundela in the show Dahleez on StarPlus. In 2017, Aashish appeared in two shows; as Manoj in Savdhaan India – India Fights Back on Star Bharat and as Vishal Singh in Ishq Mein Marjawan on Colors TV. Aashish is best known for playing the character of Paritosh “Toshu” Shah in the television show Anupamaa (2020) on StarPlus alongside Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna.
In an interview, Aashish talked about his role in the show Anupamaa and said,
Its been 10 long years of my hardwork and dedication that finally I’m enjoying to play such a beautiful role of Paritosh, and it has clicked for me. My audience are loving and appreciating me. Personally I’m also enjoying to play so many layers in a single character. I’m really thankful to the makers for giving me this opportunity to play such a wonderful character. I have loved playing it entirely, its going to be great two years now. And people are loving the journey of my character in the show.”
In 2018, Aashish Mehrotra appeared as a contestant in the Indian talent search reality television show India’s Next Superstars on StarPlus. The show was judged by Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty.
In the initial days of his career, he worked as a dance instructor at DX – Dance Explosion Studio in New Delhi. Aashish owns a dance school in Delhi. In an interview, talking about how his dance school helped him in fulfilling his career aspirations, he said,
I came to Mumbai from Delhi eight years ago. In Delhi, I used to run my own dance school and it is by teaching students there and saving that money that I could come to Mumbai and pursue my dream of becoming an actor.”
In 2020, Aashish Mehrotra appeared in the series Pyaar Ka Overdose along with Shruti Sharma on the YouTube channel ‘Total Indian Drama’ in which he played the role of Ramit.
Aashish won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role Award for Anupama at the International Iconic Awards 2022.
