Career

While she was studying in school, she developed an interest in boxing. In 2011, she heard the town crier making an announcement about sarpanch Sudhir Hooda establishing a boxing academy in her village, Rurki, near Rohtak. She eagerly asked her father to enroll her in the academy, despite the family’s financial struggles; however, the academy didn’t require any fees from its trainees. In 2016, she participated in the Nations Cup Junior held in Ruma, where she defeated boxer Vilma Viitanen. In 2017, she competed in the final boxing match at the Ahmet Comert Youth Tournament; however, she lost the match. She competed against Ankushita Boro at the 2022 Indian National Championships. In 2023, she took part in the 19th Asian Games and lost to two-time world champion Lin Yu-ting, a Taiwanese boxer, in the women’s 57kg semifinal match.

In 2023, she qualified to represent India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her stance in the games is Orthodox.
