Manjari Joshi was born on Saturday, 19 March 1960 (age 63 years; as of 2023) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. She completed her schooling at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi, in 1974. She pursued a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Honors) at Miranda College, Delhi University. She pursued a Master of Arts in Russian language and literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. She got associated with Doordarshan in the 1980s.

Manjari Joshi started her career as a Hindi news anchor at Doordarshan and worked for 25 years. She worked at All India Radio for many years.

Manjari Joshi has translated many Russian-language books into English and Hindi languages. Many publishing houses including Sahitya Akademi and National Book Trust have published her translation work. The translation of “Abai Kunanbev Chanyanika” was published by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, in 1995.

Writer

She has written many books including “Bharatiya Sangeet ki Parampar,” which was published by National Book Trust, New Delhi. She has also co-authored many books along with her husband, Hemant Joshi, like Writing for Media, Fundamentals of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Communication for Development, which were published under Vikas Publishing House, New Delhi, in 2011.
